Dan Vo is the manager of the six-time Grammy award winning rapper, Apl.de.Ap, co-founder of the Black Eyed Peas. He talks about connecting his and Apl’s culture to mainstream entertainment in the next decade. Dan is a former English instructor at Vietnam-German University, a school which stemmed from a joint cooperation between the German and Vietnamese government. His time in Vietnam shaped his outlook to product, manufacturing, branding, and social impact to create a better future. Five years later, Dan and his team spearheaded a project with the Philippines Tourism Department to bring tourists and business leaders to the country. He is also on the board of the Apl.de.Ap Foundation, which creates education opportunities for underserved communities in Los Angeles and The Philippines. The foundation also creates programs for vision impairments in premature babies. Today, Dan and Apl.de.Ap continuing ideating and designing products that further the narrative on their personal and cultural pasts.
